Most drivers believe that texting and driving creates only a momentary distraction. Today on April 6, or 4.6, Lexus has released a new video to shatter this common misconception. The average length of time it actually takes to send or receive a text message when you’re behind the wheel is 4.6 seconds, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Lexus and Toyota Will Make Automated Braking Standard on Nearly Every Model and Trim Level by End of 2017

 Four Years Before NHTSA Industry AEB Target NEW YORK, N.Y., March 21, 2016 – Advanced automatic safety technology that was once available on only the most expensive new vehicles is about to be included as standard equipment on almost every Lexus and Toyota model and trim level in the United States. Announced today at the New York Auto Show, Toyota will begin to include the Lexus Safety System+™ and Toyota Safety Sense™ packages, anchored by automatic emergency braking (AEB), on almost every new vehicle by the end of 2017. The Lexus RC F GT3 concept is made its Canadian debut at the Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) promising to raise Lexus’ racing ambitions on an unprecedented scale – beginning this year, with hopes of competing in the FIA GT3 category in Europe. The concept race car is based on the spectacular new RC F coupe (See pictures and pricing below). With a modified version of the RC F’s 5.0-litre V8 engine, the GT3 delivers output exceeding 540 horsepower.
