2020 Nissan Sentra SR (Premium) – Road Test

It’s been a while since I had a compact car to drive – other than our own, now departed Ford Focus. Ford may have abandoned the auto landscape in search of people who want trucks and CUV/SUV’s, but there is still a huge market for affordable, reliable cars that don’t cost as much as your mortgage every month. It took Ford 8 years to realize they made a mistake by cancelling the Ranger – maybe they’ve made another poor decision, only with cars this time. Regardless, we’re in the market for a new car and the Nissan Sentra is the type of car that fits into the price point we’re comfortable with. We’ve never even remotely considered the Sentra before now. Why? It’s just never been anywhere near our radar. Will this week’s test drive change our minds? Let’s find out…

Nissan Unveils The New 2021 Armada And 2021 Kicks

NASHVILLE, Tenn./Mississauga, Ont. [2020/12/08] – In May, Nissan announced its global transformation plan called Nissan NEXT. As part of the extensive business, cultural and product plan, the company promised 10 new vehicle reveals in 20 months – with six new vehicles in Canadian showrooms by the end of 2021. Today, Nissan took a big step forward toward delivering that goal with the preview today of the 2021 Armada full-size SUV and 2021 Kicks compact crossover. As a result, a full 80 percent of Nissan’s SUV/crossover lineup will be new or renewed in the calendar year 2021.

2020 Nissan LEAF SL PLUS – Road Test

The Nissan LEAF has been around since the 2010 model year. It got a complete makeover from top to bottom last year and alongside the new looks, it also got bigger batteries and a much-improved range – making it far more useful than ever before. Although I’d never driven one, it was firmly on our list as possibly the next car in our driveway when our present lease was up. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one for a week, but now I have. One thing for sure is – it didn’t disappoint.

2020 Nissan Titan PRO-4X Luxury – Road Test

In Canada when we think of trucks the F-150, Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500 are the first that come to mind. Why not the Nissan Titan? Maybe it’s because all we ever see are the others. Ford sold 145,694 F-150’s last year, whereas Nissan sold only 2,807 Titans. That explains why you rarely see Titans out in the wild. But just because something is not popular, doesn’t mean it’s not good. You don’t see Ferrari’s every day either, but you wouldn’t automatically think they were temperamental and prone to breaking down… oh, that’s not a good example. How about this… outside of North America there are virtually only 2 pickup trucks: Nissan and Toyota. They own the world the way Ford, GM and Ram own North America. Nissan is a legitimate pickup truck manufacturer, they just get overlooked here. What does the rest of the world know that we don’t? Let’s check it out and see…

Nissan Titan Leaving Canada – Will Focus On Crossovers And Sedans Instead

August 18, 2020 / After testing a Titan for a week, I returned it, only to find that Nissan has pulled the plug on it here in Canada. That’s rather unfortunate because it’s a really good truck. Watch this space for a full review. It’s still available at dealers and on the website – so grab one while you can. There are still some new 2019’s available along with 2020’s. The last time I checked there was at least $15,000 off and no charge freight, making them very affordable.

2020 Nissan Maxima Platinum – Road Test

It’s been a couple of years since I last tested a Nissan. They are never at the top of my list of must-drive vehicles and I don’t know why, because every time I drive them I love them. This week I had the opportunity to spend some serious seat time behind the wheel of the Maxima Platinum. I was expecting a decent enough drive, comfort-wise – what I didn’t expect was how much I really loved this car!

Car Makers Sharpen Their Crayons For April Fools Day

With another April Fools day in the record books, it’s time to review what kind of pranks the automakers have been getting up to. It’s funny to see the extremes they’ll go to just to prove they actually have a sense of humour. Here are our favourites from this year. First up, the runner up for the best 2013 April Fool’s prank by an Automaker… BWM  P.R.A.M. With a royal baby due this summer, BMW proudly announced the launch of the limited edition BMW P.R.A.M. (Postnatal Royal Auto Mobile). Available in Princess Pink or Royal Blue. The soft-top convertible has been designed using our EfficientDynamics technology. With two or four-wheel-drive, it rides as smoothly on a polo field as it does down The Mall and comes with air conditioning and built-in extendable flagpoles as standard. For those who are ‘too posh to push’ this masterpiece of motherhood even comes fitted with N.A.P.P.I.E. (Nanny-Assisting Petrol-Powered Injection Engine).
