2022 Ford Escape Titanium PHEV – Road Test

Last year we drove the fabulous Escape Hybrid and loved it. Ford have since added the PHEV version to their ever expanding electric lineup and we couldn’t wait to get our hands on it. Oddly enough, it’s the same colour as last year’s hybrid – Antimatter Blue. What’s the difference between them? Well, the PHEV has a larger battery that you can plug in and charge. Depending on the distance you drive, potentially you’ll only visit the gas station once or twice per year.

2021 Ford Escape Hybrid – Road Test

It’s been a while since we drove an Escape Hybrid – 13 years to be exact! Partly it was because Ford discontinued the hybrid version, and partly because we never came away from the experience overly impressed. I just went back and re-read my article and it was less than complimentary (sorry Ford) about the interior plastics among other things. One thing is for sure, Ford has definitely improved enormously in the past few years when it comes to the plastics in most of their vehicles.

2021 Ford F-150 Lariat Hybrid – Road Test

Last year we had the opportunity to drive loads of F-150’s. During the lockdown we were helping my brother-in-law, who works as the sales manager at the local Ford dealership, move trucks to/from other dealerships, so we’ve got plenty of experience with them. We’ve driven the entire range and have our favourite versions with the options we would pick if we were buying one.

2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E – Road Test

We’ve known about the Mustang Mach-E for over a year now, and people are still banging on that “it’s not a Mustang because it’s an SUV.” Those people are morons. They’ve obviously made a judgment based on their small minds fitting into their tiny heads. You have to be open-minded with ANY vehicle and manufacturer. Remember the outcry when Porsche, Jaguar and Lamborghini said they were going to start building SUV’s? That was supposed to be the end of the world as we knew it. Fast forward a couple of years and the SUV’s are outselling the sports cars by a great number.

2022 Ford Maverick Launch

The world’s worst-kept secrets has officially been revealed – the 2022 Ford Maverick – and it’s truly impressive. With a base MSRP of just $25,900 Cdn ($19,995 U.S.) – the price alone should get your attention! Even if you’re not a “truck person” this is a serious option for those that need a small maneuverable pickup truck that is great on gas and had a rugged bed to throw dirt, mulch or camping gear in – without having to buy/lease a huge F-150 etc. Here’s the breakdown…

2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Launch

The official launch of the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning happened last night and there were some shocking numbers thrown about – starting with the starting price: $39,974, before any credits!!! Of course that’s not the one you or I will actually want – it’s a base, commercial-oriented trim level. Optioned out it’ll top off at around $90k – similar to a King Ranch if you tick all the boxes in a traditional F-150.
