2022 Genesis G70 Sport – Road Test

It’s been a while since we’ve driven a Genesis – not that we haven’t wanted to, it’s just things never lined up properly over the years. Looking back, we were shocked to see it was all the way back to 2010! Wow, that’s way too long. Back then, Genesis wasn’t a stand-alone brand, so it was called the Hyundai Genesis 3.8L Coupe GT and we loved it and wanted to own one. What about the 2022 version? The coupe is long gone and it’s now got 4 doors – will we like this one as much?

2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E – Road Test

We’ve known about the Mustang Mach-E for over a year now, and people are still banging on that “it’s not a Mustang because it’s an SUV.” Those people are morons. They’ve obviously made a judgment based on their small minds fitting into their tiny heads. You have to be open-minded with ANY vehicle and manufacturer. Remember the outcry when Porsche, Jaguar and Lamborghini said they were going to start building SUV’s? That was supposed to be the end of the world as we knew it. Fast forward a couple of years and the SUV’s are outselling the sports cars by a great number.

2022 Ford Maverick Launch

The world’s worst-kept secrets has officially been revealed – the 2022 Ford Maverick – and it’s truly impressive. With a base MSRP of just $25,900 Cdn ($19,995 U.S.) – the price alone should get your attention! Even if you’re not a “truck person” this is a serious option for those that need a small maneuverable pickup truck that is great on gas and had a rugged bed to throw dirt, mulch or camping gear in – without having to buy/lease a huge F-150 etc. Here’s the breakdown…

Acura provides first look at possible NSX interior design concept at 2013 NAIAS in Detroit DETROIT, Mich., Jan. 15, 2013– Acura today unveiled a new NSX Concept that showcases the evolution of the next-generation supercar’s styling and design, including a first-ever look at one possible direction for the next-generation NSX interior design. “This further evolution of the Acura NSX Concept design is remarkably true to the original concept styling,” said Mike Accavitti, vice president of national marketing operations. “We’re making great progress in delivering on the expectations we created a year ago, with advanced technology that will bring new levels of performance and a unique, dynamic experience to the exotic sports car market.”

Road-Test Special: 2013 Lincoln MKS & MKT

New technologies on the 2013 Lincoln MKS and MKT deliver better handling, more power, and improved fuel economy along with more refinement and new technologies that help drivers reduce accident risks as well as providing an even more engaging driving experience – important new reasons to consider Lincoln’s newest vehicles. Ford invited me to test drive these two new vehicles and I have to be honest and say they were extremely impressive. I’ve never been a big fan of Luxo-barge type vehicles – they are just too soft and mushy on the road unless you want to be asleep behind the wheel. The 2013 Lincoln MKS and MKT are unlike anything you’ll ever have driven in the past from Ford’s luxury division.

2011 Hyundai Tucson GLS AWD – Road Test

For the last year or so Hyundai has been on a bit of a tear with new models coming out every few months – each one significantly better looking than the model it replaces. The Santa Fe was the first model to get the new treatment followed by a completely new model line-up in the case of the Genesis Coupe and Sedan, followed by the all-new Sonata that has earned numerous awards around the world. More new vehicles are coming in the next few months, but this week’s Road Test is the highly anticipated small CUV, the Tucson.

2008 Chrysler Sebring 3.5 Limited/Touring & Limited AWD – Road Test

The all-new Chrysler Sebring was launched last year and is one of many new vehicles coming from Chrysler over the next few of years. To say it was long over-due for a make-over would be an understatement. I drove the 2006 model in California back in April of 2006 and came away impressed with a vehicle that was well past its sell-by date even then. Considering it hadn’t changed much over its relatively long life-cycle – long in terms of the Japanese and Korean brands, but just a newbie in the Ford/GM design cycle – it held up well, but was definitely showing its age. Back in June of 2006, Chrysler announced the arrival of the all-new Sebring for the spring of 2007. Surprisingly, the public response of the news on PaddockTalk was far greater than we had imagined and the hits on the site were quite outstanding. Obviously, I wasn’t the only one looking forward to this vehicle’s facelift.

2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser – Road Test

The first time I saw the FJ Cruiser I thought it was an odd-looking manly retro truck – definitely not a “chick-truck”. I wasn’t really enamored with it – I certainly didn’t get too excited about it. The first time my wife saw it she loved it and told me I just HAD to get one for a Road Test. She never stopped asking when I was going to get one, so I booked it for the middle of winter when it might actually come in handy. Now the question begs to be asked: is it a manly truck that “Chicks get” or is my wife getting too manly? Oddly enough, both sexes take double-stares at the FJ Cruiser, so it looks like Toyota have designed and built a truck that appeals to everyone. Now we’ll have to see if it’s as tough as it looks…
