Audi Launches All-New 2013 S6, S7, S8 Models

AJAX, ON, Sept. 12, 2012 /CNW/ – For the 2013 model year the Audi line-up will grow with a number of new additions to the portfolio. Few models will have more presence than the new S6, S7 and S8 which will make their Canadian debut today at the All-New Audi Lauzon Terminal.

All three models will be beneficiaries of the new 4.0 TFSI V8, producing 420hp in the S6 and S7, while the S8 will have an output of 520hp. The engine of each of these 3 models will feature cylinder on-demand technology, allowing it to reduce the number of utilized cylinders from eight to four. The transition from eight to four happens in less than four hundred thousandths of a second, and helps reduce CO2 emissions as well as improve fuel economy. The S6 and S7 come equipped with a seven-speed S Tronic transmission, while the S8 utilizes an eight-speed tiptronic.

A sport-tuned Audi adaptive air suspension gives the S models exceptional sport-like handling. To add traction to the road, Quattro permanent all-wheel drive delivers power to all wheels, and a rear sports differential helps to ensure no corner appears too daunting.

The S6 and S7 come with Valcona leather ‘S’ embossed front seats and brushed aluminum inlays, while the S8 comes with comfort front sport seats and carbon atlas interior trim. All S models have S labeled door sills and aluminum pedals. On the outside, brushed aluminum mirror housings and S badging set the cars apart, as do the more aggressively styled front bumpers of each model. The S6, S7 and S8 will be available in October with starting prices of $82,300, $89,300 and $130,000 respectively.
